Athelington 2020 - 1-8 August

Athelington is GBM’s summer holiday event, a week’s holiday in Suffolk at harvest time, with Bible ministry and a focus on world mission. If you have never discovered Suffolk before, come and explore beautiful villages and an unspoilt coastline. Share fellowship with other Christians, enjoy ministry from God’s word, and find out more about GBM’s work across the world by meeting the missionaries who are with us.

The speaker this year is Daniel Caballero. Daniel is a Peruvian, and he and his wife Ellie are now based in Cork, in the South West of Ireland. Daniel will give our morning Bible expositions, and they will also speak about their work. Other missionaries will be with us and will give evening mission presentations.

Each weekday there is a mission club for primary aged children during the morning meetings.

The programme is relaxed with lots of spare time to go out and enjoy the day. There are games on the field, craft workshops, a late-night programme for teenagers, and a hog roast on the Friday evening. We also organise a couple of trips out to the coast.

This is a self-catering holiday for those who like the freedom of camping and caravanning, or those who prefer the comfort of a quality timber lodge.

Campers and Caravanners pitch around the main field, and have full use of the kitchen, toilets and showers. Electric hook-ups are available for caravans and are included in the price.

There are three standards of lodge – Athelington lodges which face the main field, Field View lodges that face south over open farmland, and the recently installed Primrose lodges beyond the hedge on the north side of the site.

Full details of the range of facilities can be found in the brochure.

Why not come as a church group and make this your church holiday?

Bookings open on Friday 3 January. You can use the booking form to book by post, or you can use our online form which will be available in the morning on Friday 3 January.

Root Hill 2020 - 22-29 August

Root Hill Youth Camp is for 16-25 year olds who come together for a great Christian holiday set in the Surrey hills. The Bible and mission are central to our week together.

Our theme for 2020 is ‘The glory of God and the enjoyment of life.’ In a world dedicated to the pursuit of money, sex and power, how do we live for the glory of God and enjoy life as he intended? Looking at Ephesians 4-6, Neil Richardson will take us through Paul’s guide to the Christian life, looking at how the gospel of God’s grace redeems every area of our lives; our mind and attitudes, our thinking, our truthfulness, our sexuality, and our work in the battles of the Christian life. Neil Richardson is a Londoner who serves with Longheath Church in Croydon, Surrey.

Root Hill is a fully catered camp. All campers sleep under canvas. If you don’t have your own tent you can book a place in one of ours. The day is structured so that we have Bible ministry in the first session of the morning. We then either go out for the day or on a walk in the Surrey hills. There are also many things to do on site – snooker, table tennis, trampolines, go-carts, and volleyball. In the evening we listen to guest preachers and missionaries.

For more information, prices and details of the early-bird discount, please download the brochure.

Bookings open on Friday 3 January. You can use the booking form to book by post, or you can use our online form which will be available in the morning on Friday 3 January.
